Preparations

Unpack the deskset and ensure all components are present: VSP726 deskset, handset with coiled cord, Ethernet cable, power adapter (5V DC 2A), wall mount bracket (optional), quick start guide, user's manual. For wall mounting: Prepare wall-mount screws spaced 3 inches (8.2 cm) or 4 inches (10.2 cm) apart. Connect the handset coiled cord to the deskset. The deskset supports PoE; if not using PoE, plug the power adapter into the DC 5V port and an unswitched outlet. Place away from water, heat sources, and interference.

Description

The VTech ErisTerminal VSP726 is a SIP deskset with a 2.75-inch color LCD display, backlit keypad, six line keys for multiple accounts, headset jack, and speakerphone. Supports HD voice codecs (G.722, Opus), call hold, transfer, conference (up to 3 parties), intercom, paging, and voicemail. Expandable with up to six cordless SIP handsets (VSP600 series). Includes dedicated buttons for mute, volume, navigation, menu, and contacts. Compatible with Asterisk, FreePBX, and other SIP servers.

Precautions

Installation

Connect Ethernet cable from deskset LAN port to router/switch (supports PoE). If no PoE, plug power adapter into DC 5V port and outlet. Connect handset cord to deskset and handset. For PC passthrough, connect PC to PC port on deskset. For wall mount: Snap wall mount bracket onto deskset, insert screws into wall, hang deskset. Configure SIP via web interface (default IP: 192.168.1.100) or provisioning server. Set up time/date via NTP or manually.

Check Operation

Power on deskset (LCD lights up). Listen for dial tone after SIP registration (status shows registered). Test by dialing a number, adjust volume with +/- keys. Verify speakerphone and headset. Check line keys light up for active lines.

Operating Features

Programming

Access contacts via Menu > Contacts. Program speed dials on line keys via web interface.

  1. Store Contacts: Menu > Contacts > Add > Enter name/number > Save.
  2. Dial Contact: Press Contacts key > Scroll > Select > Dial.
  3. Edit: Contacts > Select > Edit > Modify > Save.
  4. Delete: Contacts > Select > Delete > Yes.

Call log: CID > Scroll > Dial or Save to contacts.

Configuration

Basic config via Menu: Ringer, Volume, Time/Date. Advanced via web GUI (connect PC to deskset PC port, access http://deskset IP).
