Preparations

Unpack the phone and ensure all components are present: telephone base, 2 cordless handsets, 2 rechargeable battery packs (2.4V 500mAh Ni-MH), 2 battery compartment covers, base power adapter (6V DC @ 400mA), 1 handset charger and adapter (6V AC @ 300mA), telephone line cord (2), quick start guide, user's manual. Install the battery in each handset by removing the compartment cover, plugging the battery connector into the socket (matching color-coded labels), placing the battery with "THIS SIDE UP" facing up, and replacing the cover until it clicks. Place the handsets in the base or charger and charge for at least 16 hours before first use. The CHARGE light will be on during charging. Removing Old Phone

Shut off power if applicable. Remove old phone cover. Label wires before disconnecting. Disconnect wires one at a time; do not let fall into wall. Remove old base from wall.

Installation

Plug the power adapter into the base and an electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch. For DSL service, install a DSL filter between the line cords and wall jacks. For a 2-line wall jack, connect the black telephone line cord to the LINE 1/L1+L2 jack on the base and to the L1+L2 wall jack. For separate wall jacks, connect the clear cord to the LINE 1/L1+L2 jack on the base and the L1 wall jack; connect the black cord to the LINE 2 jack on the base and the L2 wall jack. Wiring Diagrams

Terminal Designations: RJ11 jack for Line 1/L1+L2 and RJ14 for Line 2 on base; DC jack for power adapter.

Standard Setup (2-line wall jack): Wall jack to base LINE 1/L1+L2; Power outlet to adapter to base DC jack.

Separate wall jacks: L1 wall jack to base LINE 1/L1+L2 (clear cord); L2 wall jack to base LINE 2 (black cord); Power outlet to adapter to base DC jack.

Check Operation

After charging, lift handset and listen for dial tone (if no tone, ensure line cord plugged firmly, power adapter secure, no wall switch off; unplug/replug power, wait 15 seconds, allow 1 minute sync; test with another phone at wall jack). Test by dialing a number and adjusting volume. Verify CHARGE light on base. Test paging: Press FIND HANDSET on base (handsets ring with **PAGING**).

Basic Calling

1. Press /FLASH or (dial tone), dial number. Predial: Dial number, press /FLASH or .
2. To answer: Press /FLASH, or any dialing key (0-9, #, *).
3. Adjust volume with VOL or during call.
4. End call: Press OFF/CLEAR or place in base/charger.

Answering Machine

1. Press ANS ON/OFF on base to turn on (announces status, light on).
2. Record announcement: MENU/SELECT > ANS. SYSTEM > ANS SYS SETUP > ANNOUNCEMENT > press 7 (record after tone, up to 90 seconds, press 5 to stop).
3. Test by calling from another phone; messages record automatically.

Intercom

1. Press INT on idle handset (for 2-handset: CALLING OTHER HANDSET; for >2: INTERCOM TO, dial handset number).
2. Answer: Press /FLASH, , INT, or dialing key on other handset.
3. Transfer call: Press INT during call (puts on hold, rings other), answer on other, OFF/CLEAR to transfer.

Caller ID

View via CID (shows XX MISSED CALL(S) for unreviewed; browse with / , NEW marks new). Dial back: Browse, press # for format (e.g., 800-595-9511), press /FLASH to dial. Save to phonebook: Browse, press MENU/SELECT > EDIT NUMBER > MENU/SELECT > ENTER NAME > MENU/SELECT > SAVE.

Operating Features

Programming

1. Set Time: Menu > SET DATE/TIME > Enter MM/DD/YY with keys/ , MENU/SELECT to advance, repeat for time (auto from CID if subscribed).
2. Phonebook Entries: Menu > DIRECTORY > STORE > ENTER NUMBER (dial keys/MUTE/REMOVE backspace/REDIAL/PAUSE pause), MENU/SELECT > ENTER NAME (dial keys per character chart, # space), MENU/SELECT.
3. Run: Exit menu; changes activate immediately.

Configuration
