Preparations

Unpack the phone and ensure all components are present: telephone base, corded handset, cordless handset, emergency pendant with lanyard and belt clip, pendant charger with adapter, handset charger, rechargeable battery packs (Ni-MH for handset, Li-ion for pendant), AC adapters, telephone line cord. For battery replacement: Open compartment, unplug old pack, plug in new VTECH battery (observe "THIS SIDE UP"), replace cover. Charge handset battery in charger for 11 hours initially; pendant for 3 hours. Maximum battery life: >7 hours talk time (handset), 5 hours speakerphone (pendant), 7 days standby. Place base/chargers away from water, heat sources, and interference. Use wall mount bracket if desired. Install backup AAA batteries (3x, not included) in base for power outage support.

Precautions

Removing Old Phone

Installation

Check Operation

Basic Calling

  1. Press TALK/SPEAKER, enter number (or predial).
  2. To answer: Lift handset/press SPEAKER/TALK or any key on pendant.
  3. Adjust volume with VOL +/-; press AUDIO ASSIST for boost.
  4. End call: Press OFF or place in charger.

Operating Features

Programming

Access menu on base/handset for programming. Program speed dial, phonebook, reminders, voicemail number.

  1. Store Numbers: Menu > Phonebook > Add, enter number (up to 30 digits), name, save. For speed dial: Menu > Photo speed dial > location, enter number/name, add photo.
  2. Emergency Setup: Assign emergency to speed dial 1/2; pendant auto-copies.
  3. Set Medication Reminder: Menu > Reminders > Add, set time/date/frequency, record message.
  4. Dial Stored Number: Press speed dial key or Menu > Phonebook, select, TALK.
  5. Run: Changes activate immediately; voice command on pendant: Press VOICE, say "Call speed dial X".
