Preparations

Unpack the phone and ensure all components are present: base unit, 2 cordless handsets, emergency pendant, 2 rechargeable battery packs (Ni-MH), AC adapter, telephone line cord, belt clips. For battery replacement: Open battery compartment cover on handset, unplug old pack, plug in new VTECH battery, replace cover. Charge new batteries by placing handsets in base/charger cradles for 16 hours before first use. Maximum battery life: >7 hours talk time, 7 days standby. Place base away from water, heat sources, and interference. Attach pendant to neck cord. Use wall mount bracket if desired.

Precautions

Removing Old Phone

Shut off power if applicable. Remove old phone cover. Label wires before disconnecting. Disconnect wires one at a time; do not let fall into wall. Remove old base from wall.

Installation

Plug telephone line cord into base and wall jack (use DSL filter if needed). Plug power adapter into base and unswitched outlet. Install batteries in handsets (align plug, snap into place, replace cover). Place handsets in base/charger to charge for 16 hours. Pair pendant: Press EMERGENCY on pendant while in range of base. Check Operation

After charging, lift handset and listen for dial tone. Test by dialing a number and adjusting volume/boost. Verify CHARGE light on base. Test pendant: Press EMERGENCY button; base should announce alert and dial preset number. Test intercom between handsets.

Basic Calling

  1. Press TALK, enter number.
  2. To answer: Press TALK or any key.
  3. Adjust volume with VOL +/-; press BOOST for amplification.
  4. End call: Press OFF or place in base.

Operating Features

Programming

Access menu on handset for programming. Program emergency number, speed dial, and reminders.

  1. Store Emergency Number: Press MENU > Emergency Setup, enter number, save.
  2. Store Speed Dial: Press and hold speed dial key (0-9), enter number, save.
  3. Set Medication Reminder: Press MENU > Reminders > Add, set time/message.
  4. Dial Stored Number: Press speed dial key.
  5. Run: Changes activate immediately.
