Preparations

Unpack the phone and ensure all components are present: handset, base unit, telephone line cord, power adapter, battery pack (2.4V 400mAh Ni-Cd). For battery installation: Remove battery compartment cover, insert battery pack with correct polarity, replace cover. Charge new battery by placing handset in base for 16 hours before first use. Maximum battery life: Up to 7 hours talk time, 5 days standby. Place base away from water, heat sources, and interference. Use wall mount bracket if desired.

Precautions

CAUTION! To prevent electrical shock/equipment damage, unplug before installation. Use only supplied adapters. If in doubt about wiring, consult qualified electrician.

Installation

Plug telephone line cord into base and wall jack (use DSL filter if needed). Plug power adapter into base and unswitched outlet. Check Operation

Basic Calling

  1. Press TALK, enter number.
  2. To answer: Press TALK.
  3. Adjust volume with VOL +/-.
  4. End call: Press OFF or place in base.

Redial: Press REDIAL/PAUSE to view last 5, press TALK to dial.

Programming

Access phonebook with STORE/EDIT button.

  1. Store Numbers: Press STORE/EDIT twice, enter phone number (up to 32 digits), press STORE/EDIT, enter name (up to 15 characters), press STORE/EDIT, select location (1-50 or 0 for speed dial), press STORE/EDIT.
  2. Dial Stored Number: Press STORE/EDIT, enter location (1-50) or scroll to entry, press TALK.
  3. Edit: Press STORE/EDIT, enter location, press STORE/EDIT twice, modify number/name, press STORE/EDIT to save.
  4. Delete: Press STORE/EDIT, enter location, press DELETE, confirm with STORE/EDIT.

Changes activate immediately.

Adjust via handset keys and switches: Ringer switch on handset (HI/LO/OFF), volume during call. Language selection via menu (English/Spanish). Dial mode (pulse/tone) via programming.
