Preparations

Unpack the phone and ensure all components are present: 1 handset, 1 base station, 1 power adapter, 1 telephone line cord, 2 AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries (300mAh), 1 user’s manual. For battery installation: Insert the 2 AAA Ni-MH, 300mAh batteries into the handset, noting correct polarity. Place the handset in the charging cradle on the base to charge for up to 16 hours before first use. Maximum battery life: Optimum performance with regular charging. Place base away from water, heat sources, and interference.

NOTE: Use only the supplied AAAx 2, Ni-MH, 300mAh batteries. If you do not use the handset for a long time, disconnect and remove the battery to prevent possible leakage.

Description

Precautions

CAUTION! To prevent electrical shock/equipment damage, unplug before installation. Use only supplied adapters. If in doubt about wiring, consult qualified electrician.

WARNING! Do not use on circuits exceeding specified voltage; improper use can cause shock/fire. All wiring must conform to local/national electrical codes. Avoid use during storms, near gas leaks. Use only the supplied NiMH batteries! Dispose of batteries per local regulations.

Installation

Connect the telephone line cord to the base and to the telephone wall jack. Connect the power adapter to the base and to a wall power outlet (unswitched). Install batteries in handset (align polarity, snap cover). Place handset in base to charge for up to 16 hours. For wall mount, not specified.

NOTE: Use only the supplied power adapter.

Check Operation

After charging, press TALK ON/RECALL and listen for dial tone. Test by dialing a number and adjusting volume with UP/DOWN. Verify charging in base.

Basic Calling

  1. Enter number, press TALK ON/RECALL (FLASH).
  2. To answer: Press TALK ON/RECALL or lift handset (if Auto Answer on).
  3. Adjust volume with UP/DOWN.
  4. End call: Press TALK OFF/CANCEL/BACK or place in base.

To mute/unmute: Press MUTE/DELETE/INTERCOM.

Turn ringer on/off: Press and hold TALK OFF/CANCEL/BACK.

Keypad lock: Press and hold #.

Operating Features

Programming

Access phonebook with PHONEBOOK key or menu.

  1. Store Numbers: Press PHONEBOOK > MENU/OK > ADD > Enter name > OK > Enter number (up to digits not specified) > OK > Select melody (1-10) > OK.
  2. Dial Stored Number: Press PHONEBOOK, scroll to entry, press TALK ON/RECALL.
  3. Edit: PHONEBOOK > Scroll > MENU/OK > EDIT > Modify name/number/melody > OK.
  4. Delete: PHONEBOOK > Scroll > MENU/OK > Delete > OK. Or Delete All via menu.
  5. Status: PHONEBOOK > MENU/OK > PB STATUS.

Changes activate immediately.

Adjust via menu: Date/Time, Alarm, Ring Setup (melodies, volume), Tone Setup (key, battery, out of range), Language, Display, Auto Answer, Base settings (Dial Mode, Flash Time, PIN).

Change PIN: Default 0000. Menu > BS Settings > Change PIN > Enter old > New > Confirm.

Reset: Menu > Default > Enter PIN > Confirm (deletes settings except phonebook).
