Preparations

Unpack the handset and ensure all components are present: cordless handset, rechargeable battery pack (Ni-MH 2.4V 550mAh), battery cover, belt clip, handset charger (C5011 or C5021). For battery replacement: Slide open the battery compartment cover, unplug the old battery connector, remove the old battery, plug in the new VTECH battery (observe polarity), replace the cover by aligning tabs and sliding until secure. Charge new battery by placing handset on charging stand connected to PoE or USB for at least 16 hours initially. Maximum battery life: >7 hours talk time, 6 days standby. Place charging stand away from water, heat sources, and interference. Use wall mount bracket if desired.

Description

Supports basic calling, intercom, call transfer, conference between lines when paired with a compatible base. Handset layout includes dedicated buttons for TALK/FLASH, OFF/CLEAR, SPEAKER, VOLUME +/-, MUTE, HOLD, CONF, LINE 1/LINE 2, numeric keys, soft keys, navigation key, and MESSAGE WAITING LED.

Precautions

CAUTION! To prevent electrical shock/equipment damage, unplug before installation. Use only supplied batteries and chargers. Connect only to host equipment via base, not directly to PSTN. If in doubt about wiring, consult qualified technician.

WARNING! Do not use on circuits exceeding specified voltage; improper use can cause shock/fire. All wiring must conform to local/national electrical codes. Avoid use during storms, near gas leaks, or with pacemakers (maintain 6-inch distance). Dispose of batteries per local regulations and RBRC program. Install appropriate filters if using with data lines. Keep small metallic objects away from handset; clean with damp cloth only.

Removing Old Phone

Shut off power if applicable. Remove old handset battery cover. Label battery connector before disconnecting. Disconnect battery; do not let fall into stand. Remove old charging stand from wall.

Installation

Install battery in handset (align connector, observe polarity, snap cover). Place handset on charging stand (C5011 PoE or C5021 USB) connected to power source for 16 hours. For wall mount, attach bracket to stand and secure to wall. Register handset to base: Press MENU > Settings > Registration on handset, or use base menu to add handset.

Check Operation

After charging and registration, handset displays idle screen with line indicators, signal, and battery icons. Test by selecting LINE 1 or LINE 2 and dialing a number, adjusting volume. Verify CHARGE LED on stand.

Basic Calling

  1. Press LINE 1 or LINE 2, then TALK/FLASH, enter number (or SPEAKER for speakerphone).
  2. To answer: Press TALK/FLASH or SPEAKER.
  3. Adjust volume with VOLUME +/-.
  4. End call: Press OFF/CLEAR or place on stand.

Operating Features

Programming

Access menu via soft keys for directory and settings. Program via handset or base web portal for SIP config.

  1. Store Numbers: Press soft key > Directory > Add, enter number (up to 32 digits), name, assign to line if desired, save.
  2. Dial Stored Number: Press soft key > Directory, select, press TALK/LINE.
  3. Run: Changes activate immediately. Registration via MENU > Registration.
