Preparations

Verify all parts are included: Cordless handset, rechargeable NiMH battery pack (BT264392/BT266342, 2.4V), screw (BY 1021), battery compartment cover. Install and charge handset battery before use. Ensure handset is registered to a compatible 2-line SIP base (e.g., S2410) before placing into charging base. Keep handset in the telephone base or charging base when not in use for optimal performance. Avoid placing near communication devices, heat sources, noise, dust, moisture, low temperatures, or vibrations.

CAUTIONS: Use only the supplied power adapter for charging base. To order replacements, call 1-888-907-2007. This product should be installed by a qualified technician. Save these instructions.

Handset Battery Installation: Gently lift the handset cover. Do not detach the speaker wires. Plug the battery connector securely into the socket inside the handset battery compartment. Place the battery with the label THIS SIDE UP facing up and the wires inside the battery compartment. Align all tabs on the handset cover against the corresponding grooves on the handset, then firmly push downward until all tabs lock. Secure with screw.

Installation

For C4300 Charging Base: Choose area near outlet. Plug Cat-5 network cable into base and PoE switch or adapter to outlet not controlled by switch. For wall mount: Reverse wall mount clip, insert mounting bracket into wall plate, position eyelets against studs, slide down to lock.

For C4500 Handset: Install battery as in Preparations. Place on C4300 or main base for charging/registration. Automatic registration on first placement to compatible 2-line SIP base (e.g., S2410): MESSAGE WAITING LED flashes once, 3 rising beeps. Deregistration: When idle, press MENU > Deregister Handset > Select > OK. To register to another base, place on new base for automatic process. Ensure installation height under 2 meters.

CAUTIONS: Use only supplied cords; call 1-888-907-2007 for replacements. Risk of explosion with wrong battery type.

Check Operation

Place C4500 handset on C4300; CHARGE LED should turn on (full charge in 16 hours). For system check: Ensure network cable secure. Press LINE 1 or LINE 2 on handset for dial tone, then end call. Verify registration by placement (LED flashes, beeps). Test incoming call: Handset rings, MESSAGE WAITING LED flashes. For range, test within effective range; handset beeps if out. If no dial tone, unplug/replug network 15 seconds. In hospitality, test speed dials and conference.
