Preparations

Unpack the phone and ensure all components are present: handset, base unit, telephone line cord, battery pack, AC adapter. For battery replacement: Remove battery case by pressing recessed area downward, unplug old pack, plug in new VTECH battery (80-5074-00-00 only), snap in place, replace cover. Charge new battery by placing handset in base cradle for 16 hours before first use. Maximum battery life: >5 hours talk time, 6 days standby. Place base away from water, heat sources, and interference. Use wall mount bracket if desired.

Description

The VTech 9119 is a cordless 900MHz phone with 40-channel operation and unique stand-up design. Features include Any Key Answer, Memory Dialing (stores up to 10 phone numbers), Redial/Pause key, Volume key, Ringer switch (ON/OFF). Supports basic calling and memory dialing. Handset and base layouts include dedicated buttons for MEM/PROG, OFF, Redial/Pause, Volume.

Precautions

CAUTION! To prevent electrical shock/equipment damage, unplug before installation. Use only supplied adapters. If in doubt about wiring, consult qualified electrician.

Removing Old Phone

Shut off power if applicable. Remove old phone cover. Label wires before disconnecting. Disconnect wires one at a time; do not let fall into wall. Remove old base from wall.

Installation

Plug telephone line cord into base and wall jack (use DSL filter if needed). Plug power adapter into base and unswitched outlet. Install battery in handset (align plug, snap into place, replace cover). Place handset in base to charge for 16 hours. For wall mount, insert bracket and slide base onto mounting studs.

Check Operation

After charging, lift handset and listen for dial tone. Test by dialing a number and adjusting volume. Verify charging light on base.

Basic Calling

  1. Press PHONE, enter number.
  2. To answer: Press PHONE or any key (Any Key Answer).
  3. Adjust volume with VOL.
  4. End call: Press OFF or place in base.

Operating Features

Programming

Access memory with MEM/PROG. Program phonebook (memory dialing).

  1. Store Numbers: Press MEM/PROG, enter phone number (up to 16 digits), press MEM/PROG again, enter location (0-9), press MEM/PROG.
  2. Dial Stored Number: Press PHONE, press MEM/PROG, press location key (0-9).
  3. Run: Changes activate immediately.
