Preparations

Unpack the phone and ensure all components are present: Base Unit, Handset, AC Power Adapter, Telephone Line Cord, Battery Pack (AAA NiMH rechargeable, part number 80-5380-00-00 or equivalent), Belt Clip, Owner’s Manual. Before using, carefully peel off the protective film covering the displays. For battery installation: Remove the battery compartment cover on the handset, insert the battery pack with correct polarity (+/- aligned), and replace the cover. Base layout: In Use LED, Charging LED, Message Waiting LED, Page key. Indicators: Speakerphone icon, MUTE icon, NEW icon (new CID), RINGER icon (muted). Check Operation

After charging, pick up handset and press ON to listen for dial tone (wait 1-2 seconds). Test by dialing a number and adjusting volume. Verify ringer by calling from another phone. Press PAGE on base to locate handset (beeps 60 seconds). If "OUT OF RANGE" displays, move closer to base. Check for "VTECH" on display. If issues, disconnect power/batteries, wait, reconnect.

Programming

Access phonebook: PHONEBOOK key. Memory: PROG/CHAN then MEM.

  1. Store Numbers: PHONEBOOK > SEL > STORE > Enter name (multi-tap keys) > PHONEBOOK > Enter number (up to 32 digits) > SEL. Optional: 7 for distinctive ring > SEL.
  2. Dial Stored Number: PHONEBOOK > Scroll > ON/SPEAKERPHONE.
  3. Edit: PHONEBOOK > Scroll > SEL > EDIT > Modify > SEL.
  4. Delete: PHONEBOOK > Scroll > MUTE/DEL > Confirm.

Store from CID: CID > Scroll > SEL > STORE CALLER ID > Enter name > SEL.

Changes activate immediately.
