The VTech 18750 is a DECT cordless telephone system with digital answering machine, caller ID, SOS emergency features, and expandable design (up to 5 handsets). Preparations

Install battery in handset(s) (slide open compartment, insert with polarity, close) and charge for 16 hours before first use. Place base away from water, heat sources, and interference. Features include backlit display, speakerphone, adjustable ringer, 70-name phonebook, 30-name caller ID log, speed dial, call transfer, conference calls, mute, quiet mode, voicemail waiting indicator, call screening, remote access, SOS emergency calls, reminder alarm, talking digits, sensor integration (VS001/VS002/VS003 for contact/motion/garage), devices (VS013 doorbell, VS014 ringer, VS015 SOS pendant), volume boost, chain dialing, VIP list (50 entries), call guard/block (50 entries). Removing Old Phone

Shut off power if applicable. Remove old phone cover. Label wires before disconnecting. Disconnect wires one at a time; do not let fall into wall. Remove old base from wall.

Installation

Plug telephone line cord into base and wall jack (use DSL filter if needed). Plug power adapter into base and unswitched outlet. Install batteries in handsets (with correct polarity). Place handsets in base/chargers to charge for 16 hours. For wall mount, align with wall plate, slide downward. Register additional handsets via MENU > Registration.

Wiring Diagrams

Terminal Designations: RJ11 jack for line cord on base; DC jack for power adapter.

Standard Setup: Wall jack to DSL filter (if needed) to base RJ11; Power outlet to adapter to base DC jack.

Wall Mount: Route cords through slots.

CAUTION! All wiring must conform to local/national electrical codes. Do not use switched outlets.

Check Operation

After charging, lift handset and listen for dial tone. Test by dialing a number and adjusting volume. Verify CHARGE light on base.

Basic Calling

1. Enter number, press TALK/SPEAKER.
2. To answer: Press TALK/SPEAKER or any dialing key.
3. Adjust volume with VOL+/-.
4. End call: Press OFF/CLEAR or place in base.

Answering Machine

1. Press ANS ON/OFF on base to turn on.
2. Record announcement: Menu > Ans. Machine > Record annc.
3. Test by calling from another phone; messages record automatically.

Intercom

1. Press INT, enter extension number.
2. Answer: Press TALK/SPEAKER.
3. Transfer call: Press INT during call, enter number.

Caller ID

View via CID; new calls with icon. Dial back with TALK/SPEAKER. Save to phonebook via SELECT.

Operating Features

• Home Screen: LCD shows battery, signal, voicemail, ringer off, new call icons.

3. Run: Exit menu; changes activate immediately.

Configuration
