Preparations

Unpack the phone and ensure all components are present: telephone base, cordless handset(s), rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack(s) (2.4V), battery compartment cover(s), base power adapter, telephone line cord, charger(s) for additional handsets, user's manual. Install battery in handset(s) and charge for 16 hours before first use. Place base away from water, heat sources, and interference. Use wall mount if desired.

Description

The VTech 15200 is a DECT 6.0 cordless phone with digital answering system (up to 12 min recording time). Features include backlit display, alphanumeric keys, adjustable ringer, 70-name phonebook, 10-name caller ID log, redial, chain dialing, mute, temporary ringer silencing, find handset, power fail back-up, alarm clock, quiet mode, voicemail waiting indicator. Precautions

Removing Old Phone

Shut off power if applicable. Remove old phone cover. Label wires before disconnecting. Disconnect wires one at a time; do not let fall into wall. Remove old base from wall.

Installation

Plug telephone line cord into base and wall jack (use DSL filter if needed). Plug power adapter into base and unswitched outlet. Install battery in handset (connector first, label up, slide cover). Place handset in base/charger to charge for 16 hours. For wall mount, place over retaining screws on wall plate, slide downward. For multi-handset, register via MENU > Registration.

Wiring Diagrams

Terminal Designations: RJ11 jack for line cord on base; DC jack for power adapter.

Standard Setup: Wall jack to DSL filter (if needed) to base RJ11; Power outlet to adapter to base DC jack.

Wall Mount: Route cords through slots.

Check Operation

After charging, lift handset and listen for dial tone. Test by dialing a number and adjusting volume. Verify CHARGE light on base. Check for dial tone by pressing dialing key.

Basic Calling

Press TALK, enter number.
To answer: Press TALK or any dialing key.
Adjust volume with VOL+/-.
End call: Press OFF or place in base.

Answering Machine

Press ANS ON/OFF on base to turn on.
Record announcement: MENU > Answering sys > Record annc.
Test by calling from another phone; messages record automatically.

Intercom

Press INT, enter extension number.
Answer: Press TALK.
Transfer call: Press INT during call, enter number.

Caller ID

View via CID; new calls with icon. Dial back with TALK. Save to phonebook via STORE.

Operating Features

Home Screen: LCD shows battery, signal, new call icons.

Programming
